Carpe Diem

Remember that somewhat creepy part in Dead Poet’s Society when Robin Williams has the students look at pictures of no-longer living students and whispers in a growly voice, “carpe . . . carpe . . . carpe diem!” ?

The phrase, seize the day, is the essence of the movie.

And I mention it to you today because we all need that reminder, especially when it comes to our families. Whether your family consists of your parents, your spouse, young children, or grown children, seize this day as an opportunity to do something special to show them love and encouragement. You’ve got one shot at this life. Choose to nurture your most precious relationships today.
